Aesthetic Connections
2006 – An exciting groundbreaking pilot, which
brought together five diverse and eager partners. Finding a common union in the arts, the
aesthetic views and talents of a higher education institute, regional
educators, and a community based non-profit arts organization found
exhilaration in collaboration.
Twenty art education interns from the State University of New York at New Paltz engaged in aesthetic education training provided by the Lincoln Center Institute. Afterward, they worked alongside 5 visual and performing artists to deliver a week of art making and discover hosted by Mill Street Loft - Dutchess Arts Camp, Millbrook NY., for children ages 4 through 12. The photographic work of Mathew Pokoik was used as a springboard
for conversation and creativity.
